Randomly "perminatly banning" users
I have a problem where people are doing normal things as admin or users, ranging from logging out to trying to recover a lost password to moving a thread to another forum, where it will just either log the user out or just display the message
You have been perminatly banned Reason given: none The users can then log back in no problem and continue with what they where doing but this worries regular users who think they have been banned from the website. Is this some sort of bug? |

What version are you using? I don't think it's a vbulletin bug, but more likely one of your mods could be bugged, conflicting with normal operation, or installed incorrectly.

I am using version 3.6.8 and the only addons I have installed are vbseo and post thanks hack. I don't see how I could have screwed up installing these.
The only thing I might be able to come up with is I get a message saying that there is a template that is old and might need 'reverted' I did the revert so I will see if anything comes up but it was the template 'register' and I don't see how logging out or moving a thread would invoke that template let alone that template causing the error in the first place. |

After some more looking I found that the situation seams to be that if there is a session timeout then the user tries to do something that requires them be logged in it gives them that message instead of saying 'sorry, you need to be logged in' or whatever.
How can I make it just say you need to be logged in instead of saying 'you have been banned!!!!' because that scares people away. _bump_ can anyone help me with this or have any ideas on where to even look? |
