Merging Posts
Ok.
Basically, a member wanted to be deleted yesterday and he had over 300 posts. Is there a way to merge those posts to another account or to give them back to that person when they sign back up? |

Admin CP > Users > Merge Users - Make sure you put the dominant user first when selecting the 2 to be merged.

Doesn't work because he signed back up with the same Username.
Plus it says "Invalid Username Specified" because the old account was deleted. |

If it's deleted, it's gone. The posts, threads, etc. revert to "Guest".

I have the same problem in that the user signed back up with the same information (username, email), they are both registered. How would I merge them together since they have the same username.

You cannot, as said the posts revert to guest....you could do them one at a time, I guess.
It's an important life lesson though, the next time a someone asks you to delete something from your database, you say NO |

Actually I figured it out. I renamed the original user, using the edit user and then did the merge. Very simple, just had to read a couple of different problems here and combined the two.

How exactly did you have two registered users with the same username ?

No idea. The user was deleted about 3 months ago, and then all of a sudden I saw her posting on the site. The name rung a bell and I would click on the profile and it would come back as invalid. She was posting like mad, and her post count was going up and it still showed her as non existent on the board, but not in the admin. So I told her to register again. She did with the exact same info, and then I changed the name of the old one that was "deleted" and then merged it with the new one. All is well. How, I do not know.
