Thread Prefixes
Version: 1.6.2 vBulletin Version: 3.6.10 Developer: Michael (Mystics) Koenig (www.vbulletin-germany.com) Modification-Language: English & German & French (thanks to ReadWrite - Note: Readme has not yet been translated to french.) Install-difficulty: Medium File-edits: 5 Template-edits: 10 Brief Description of the Modification This modification allows your users to choose a thread prefix for each thread. To do this you are able to select an appropriate prefix from a list beside the title while posting a new thread - for example 'Help', 'Problem', 'Search' etc. This prefix will be displayed in front of the thread title. The result will be for example: Problem - I can't find this setting Problem is the thread prefix, I can't find this setting is the title of the thread. The prefixes displayed in this list may be defined by a moderator for each of his moderated forums (Forum Tools -> Manage Thread Prefixes); of course an administrator and a super moderator is allowed to do this for every forum. I have a problem with mine(attached picture) im figuring its a template edit that i did wrong.. but it would help if some one could tell me exactly what. thank you |

I want people to be able to attach prefixes and for people to be able to search via the prefix but the display is not needed since most of the time the team name is used in the thread title, making it redundant.

That would be a template edit to remove prefixes shown, but that would still allow users to use the prefix system.

Right but where? I have gone back and tried to edit it out and can't seem to find where to get it to come off.

There is a poll on vbulletin.com to make this add on standard to vbulletin. Please check it out.

I voted yes. Thanks for the link. I hardly go to vbulletin.com's board since most of the responses are "go to vbulletin.org".

The Template Modification System hack seems ideal for hack with so many template edits, like this one. If anyone has created the Template-Modification XML file, for the Thread Prefixes add-on, then please post this here. This will save a lot of work for many others and will keep your template changes through upgrades of vbulletin and the Thread Prefixes add-on.
Edit. I was just informed that the XML file is included in the zip file of the Template Modification System hack, so that will make installing Thread Prefixes a piece of cake. |
