Adding dropdown field to new post and displaying in post
Hi,
I'm experienced in PHP/MySQL and using vBulletin (4 years for all), and can't quite work out how vBulletin is laid out as far as bringing external databases in goes. Basic aim for this is to add a dropdown menu to the new post page in certain forums, the content of the dropdown box being generated from a database query to another DB- not the vBulletin DB. The value gets stored with the post and displayed in the postbit_legacy template with the post. I've got all the code needed to produce this in vanilla PHP- so how would I go about doing this in vBulletin PHP/Plugins? Cheers, James |

You may want to take a look at GARS... it does exactly what you want... perhaps it could give you some hints on how to code it yourself... OR, you could just use it since it already works and is quite robust. |
