Server just got pounded...
Anyone dealt with this?
Server load averages in the 30s and high 20s across the board. Finally got to look at WOL and my initial though of Slurps was incorrect. I'm being hit with close to 300 "guests" from .ru, .br, .es, .jp....etc. You get the idea. Spammers is my only thought right now.... Anyway, apparently they all came on at the same time which brought my site to a screaming halt. Server loads have dropped back to normal levels of 1 or under, but they're still coming. I've never experienced this. Is it something to be concerned about? I'd appreciate any thoughts. Thanks! |

Anything that puts your load that high is something to be concerned about, IMO. It's possible that it was a cordinated attack, or that you just made the front page on some popular new site.

Ya, it was certainly something new. Good thing is it only lasted a few minutes. Thanks for the feedback.
