Minimum Posts for Private Forum?
Hey guys, I did a search all over the internet for this but couldnt find anything. Is there a way you can make it so that new members have to have a minimun of say 5 posts before seeing a forum you made private? If so, does anyone know a way I can go about doing this.
The reason I ask is because on my forums I have a download forum, and i dont want people registering and downloading if they arent even going to contribute at least a couple of posts to the forum. Thanks! |

yes, use the default promotion system... no need to use hacks.

awesome, thanks so much, one last thing. Is there a way to change the text where it says private to "please log in" on the main index? I'd rather people know they have to log in to see the forum rather than it being private and non-readable....

Try changing the phrase private in the vB Phrase Manager.

It came up with about 100 different phrases, know of any specific phrase I could use to pin point that text?

Search GLOBAL phrases. The phrase text is Private and phrase variable name is private.

awesome, it worked, thanks!
One last question, is there a way to ask for a login once a visitor clicks a private forum? instead of show the forum with a message that says "there are no posts in this forum"? |
