AdminCP Holiday Manager Style Override
EDIT: A similar thread exists with a plug in that will suit my needs, oops. That thread did not come up in the search results.
Special themes for certain holidays and other calendar events are becoming tradition for many bulletin boards, or so I seems. Currently, an Administrator will have to manually set an override style and disable changing of styles for that period. Is it possible to get a new product that could add another field to the holiday manager with a style id. If a holiday falls on the particular day and a style id is present for that holiday, then then at 12am using the schedule it could change the forum default style, and also turn off the ability to change styles (optional, set by admin - could this forced over-ride feature could be decided in vBulletin options) to the desired themed skin. The user would also specify the default style id so the product can revert the style, re-enable users to choose styles. Something like that. For vBulletin hackers (modders) this info may be of more assistence: AIM: To change the forums default skin on a particular calendar event or holiday (force the change by turning off user-changing of styles for the holiday) and revert it back after that day - event styles should be an admin only option. Please note that an additional option to 'back track' a style, ie for Christmas, would be great thus making the style active x amount of days before the event/holiday. Is this do-able? Thank you |
