It's probably real, but as you say unsure as to whether it will make it to market, especially outside Asia.
Thing is now iphone are using the whole touch face, manufacturers realise there is a market to build the components. Instead of having to custom request/create components for such a flash phone they are being manufacturerd on a large scale. The whole concept becomes affordable and attainable.
Apple don't realise what's coming with Windows Mobile 6. When it gets going it will be Vista on a mobile. Much tastier than OSX walled garden.
