Paypal Donation by a user puts them in an additional usergroup that see's less ads?
It would be sweet if you could have a Paypal Donation (say a $5 minimum) by a user that would put them in an additional usergroup that see's less ads on the site and is given like a "Site Supporter" in a custom profile spot. Or their name is italicized or something. Is this possible or has it already been done?
Thanks in advance. I think it'd be a great hack to be done. |

or you could just use subscriptions, move them to the usergroup and use some conditionals

Do subscriptions exist on 3.5x? I've never tried them. (Would it be also possible to change their user titles i.e. like add bold etc via a secondary usergroup and not a primary?) Thanks for the ideas so far. Quote:

all my hack does is display the latest paid subscribers on forumhome. You need to first setup subscriptions on ur forums. Then setup usergroup permissions, etc allow them to change their titles, etc.

So there is a built in option to set up paypal subscriptions (donations) within vBulletin that all I need to do is customize and add conditionals for the italic username etc? |
