Visual Query Builders... anyone use them?
Has anyone here had any experience using Visual Query Builders such as Navicat, etc... to aid in writing queries? I have been writing some queries which are a bit above my current skills, and i'm hoping that there's some applications out there which can assist me in writing these queries. Are there any other alternatives and what's your experience with them? Thanks

I have found those to be just as complex to learn to use as writing the queries themselves. Usually, if I get over my head, I just go to sitepoint and post in the mysql forum and hope Rudy is around.

One thing i do really like is the ability to run a query and see the result set right away, really makes tweaking queries a lot easier. I have been using mysqlfront (which is crapola) and it didnt offer that ability. |
