I am curious about turning html on...
I visited a forum where they have html on so that you can embed videos so that they play right in the forum. I really like that and I think it would go over well in my forum, however I have heard that turning on html can leave you open to be hacked. Or at least make it easier to be hacked. Can someone give me some advice on this?? How does someone hack me through html?? What can I do to prevent it? |

HTML left unchecked can leave your board vulnerable to various things...
My suggestion is to use one or a combination of several embedding media hacks, and the hack that Irisfire linked to as it works for me on my 3.6.4 set up. This way the usergroups you TRUST will be able to use HTML, and the rest of the userbase can use the BB Code to embed videos. |
