Reply by email?

Is there a mod out there that lets you reply to a thread by replying to an email, so that heavy users of forums can respond directly from their email inbox? Here's what I'm imagining:

1. User A subscribes to a thread (or is set up to receive all emails).
2. Third party (user B) replies to above thread.
3. This generates an automatic email to user A, which includes the contents of the post.
4. User A replies to email.
5. This email gets picked up by a server somewhere, parsed, and the reply is added to the forum.

Anyone know of something like this? I searched but did not find one.

Response: I also searched for the same feature, there's a few that exist but they're all in the modification graveyard. Good feature request, surprised nobody ever responded to you. I am going to be digging around to see if anyone ever kept the old hacks working. If so, I'll post an update that will be easy to find for anyone searching for 'reply by email'

This is a hotly demanded feature, but there's so much old junk. It all needs to be collected into one place somehow, perhaps a universal thread.

The original poster is very unlikely to respond, or even to be still using vBulletin.
