Popup when downloading a modification?
Hello!
I've just noticed that many people don't click 'install' even when they have installed the addition. Can't you add a popup saying something like: You are about to download XYZ, would you like to be notified when this addition is updated? Clicking 'yes' will put you on the 'I have installed this modification' list and you'll get a message as soon as a new version is out. When he clicks 'no' he will not be added to the list but he can still download the file. |

Popups are blocked by my browser
I sometimes choose not to click install because I just want to check out the code and not actually install it. Or I am installing it for someone else and don't want it on my list. |

That's a good reason but I think some members just forget to click 'install'.

I find it a great idea
What about a popup like the "New Private Message" popup? I'm using the popup blocker of Firefox and it isn't blocking that thing. |

My firefox is blocking the popup here for PM
You could use the same format as the Dynamic Announcement popup. This is not blocked by any popup blockers I also think this would be a very good idea as sometime (not often) i forget to click the install button, perhaps i got side tracked of the pc had a cardiac and i forgot, anyway, it does happen and a reminder when downloading the hack would be benificial, not only yo the member but also to the coder.... Perhaps an idea would be to have to click install to download, but then this would be a pain for peeps that dont actually install it or have downloaded to install it elsewhere..although they could click install again to remove it Perhaps its something to comtemplate? |

I'll have to agree. It sucks when someone downloads and uses your modification, but doesn't show that they did by clicking install. I'd really like to see a way to ensure that they do.
What about this... When you click on the link to download it, it automatically adds to the total installs. However, make it up to the downloader to uninstall if they actually don't use it. This way, all downloads are at least recorded as being installed, and the user still has the option of removing their install to show that they did not install it. |

Why not to have it like the download area at vb.com , I mean to show the support policy of the hack coder and once the user click "AGREE" it will download the hack and check that the user installed it.
