thread copies - reply to 1 appears in all?
Is there a way to do this?
If I copy a thread from one forum to another, is it possible to have any replies to any of the threads appear in all places? For example, I originally posted this thread here: http://forums.articulate.com/general...late-mvps.html ..then copied into my other forums: http://forums.articulate.com/articul...late-mvps.html http://forums.articulate.com/articul...late-mvps.html ...so if someone replies to one of these, can it appear in all places? In other words, I want the message to be accessible via all forums, but want to centralize the discussion in one place. One thought I had is moving 2 of them with a redirect to new then merging the 3 back into 1, but not sure if that would work. Thanks! |

It is not possible for a thread to be in two forums, which is basically what you seem to be trying to do.

What about some way to create a shortcut in one forum to a thread in another? This would work if I create a thread in just one forum and move it to another. But then I couldn't do the same in a third forum.
P.S. I know the simple way would be to create one thread that contains a link, but, ideally, I'd like for the thread itself to be a shortcut to another thread in a different forum. |

If you don't use redirects for anything else, redirects would do what you want. Move the post around with redirects and change the template to get rid of the redirect arrow. Then, it looks like you have the thread in more than one place.
