Invisible Forum, Visible Thread
I'm having trouble with forum permissions.
I want to set up a forum so that it's only visible on the forum home page to a certain usergroup. So, if you join usergroup "A" then you see certain forums. If you're not in that usergroup, you won't. BUT, you can still see the threads in that forum. Say you search for posts by a buddy, and you see he posted in that forum. I'd like it so that the person searching can view that thread. BUT, he can't view that whole forum. Please tell me this is possible.. |

Sorry, but this isn't possible.
From the Admin Help for "Can View Forum?": Can view forum? If this is set to No, the rest of the settings on this screen are unused as the user will be denied access if they try to view any page that involves this forum. |

Is their any alternative? For example, have many subforums, and have users be able to display which ones show up on the main page? Or, have a bunch of forum categories collapsed at the start, and the user uncollapses the group they are with?
Or, hmm.. maybe this is the key: https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthrea...light=multiple |
