Memberlist of a clan
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Hi, I just bought vBulletin to be run as forum for my clan. I also install vBadvanced very nice CMPS. However my question: Is there a mod/plugin/hack available in which i can have a memberlist of a clan. Example: I have 10 forummembers, 5 are clan. In the mod i select which are member of the clan and on a seperate page they are now showed. Preferred is the possiblity to put them into different groups. Pages can then be linked in vBadvanced. I know there is something like vWar or VBwar, but i don't need all the options it has and i want as less as possible other pieces of software into my site. (Security) Any tips, hints are welcome!! |

There is no hack available that can do that at the moment.
I also wanted a roster with clan members' profiles that integrated with vB. There wasn't any mod available and my requests of a solution went unanswered. So I created it myself using vBadvanced, vB and my own scripts. The members' profile page, which opens up when you click on a members nickname, mirrors the vB's Members Info page but it is independent from it. Only clan members will have their info shown on the roster's profile page. I won't release the codes but I'll point you in the right direction. vBadvanced allows you to create custom pages, modules and templates. On their site there are threads and an on-site manual that explains how to create them using the cmps_index.php file. Study the cmps_index.php file and see how it calls the vB codes. Learn vB's plugin system and custom Profile Fields as well. There are also Logician's Web Templates, Princeton's Custom GT Page and Psionic Vision's Custom page tutorials. For your purpose, vBadvanced may be the better solution as it's already integrated with vB. There is a discussion about a Clan Management system among a couple of coders but it'll take time for them to develop. In the meantime do what I did and create one unique to your site. I would show you my clan roster but for some reason by database is missing from the server. When it's up again, I'll link you to the site. |

Why not just use usergroups.. and customize it from there.
