Default Newbie: How do I create a custom header (top of page)

Hi,
I am just starting out with vBulletin. I know how to program in html and I had some experience in adding mods to my previous phpbb based forum. But here I am a little lost and I need to get my forum working. I have a few questions and hope someone can help me get on the right track.

1. In just about every vBulletin forum I have seen, there is some kind of customised title bar at the top of the page replacing the default "vBulletin" image. I wish to create such a title bar for my vb 3.5.0 forum, but simply do not know how to do it. I did not find instructions to do this in the manual and I have spent some time looking through this forum without finding an answer.

Can someone tell me in simple terms how to change that header.

2. With PHPBB, there was a library of mods which included detailed instructions of what they did and how to install them. Where do I find a similar list and instructions for vb 3.5?

3. I would like to add additional user languages (UK-English, German, French, Spanish) to my forum. I found a feature for doing this in the admin area, but where can I download the ready made language files?

4. In my previous forum, I had a links mod that enabled me to offer a series of links sorted by category. Where can I find a similar mod for vb?

5. As I have many members who are used to Yahoogroups and want to receive all new posts via Email, how can I do this in vb. I solved this problem in my old forum by having a special account that had subscribed to all forums and the messages were sent straight to that Yahoogroup. My members simply joined that group and received all the new messages. Each Email started with a link to the original post to make it easy to reply. The Subject line contained the forum name and the Topic's title. Every message also contained the poster's username and the entire text of their post. Is there a simple way of setting up something similar with vb?

I look forward to your answers and a wonderful experience joining the world of vBulletin users.
