Is it possible to chang the template color for WYSIWYG

Basically the image below that I have attached I want to change the areas that are circled in red to all be the same color on the new post template. I have worked with Panel surround and Panel(forums) but when I change the color it does not change the whole color for the template. I have also used the <td>, <th>, <p>, <li> editor and it does change the color of the template but it also changes allot of the background for the main body of the forum and I don?t want this. What you see on your alls is what I want just one solid color all the way around. If anyone knows of a way to change this I sure would appreciate on how to do it.

I am also having problems when you type the background is highlighted in black and I have not found a way to change this either. Is it possible to get the highlighted black off?
