Can you help?
This forum (vbulletin.org) seems very fast.
Can you help me with what hardware and software you are running? Our forum is not as responsive as yours. We have just upgraded to a dual-processor dedicated server. It doesn't "pop" as I would have hoped for, so I'd like to compare notes on performance and more possible upgrades. What are your server specifications, such as ram, space, type of processor, memory, and any other php or mysql specifications? Thanks for your help, David Our specs: Processors: GenuineIntel Intel(R) Xeon(TM) CPU 2.80GHz 2800.229 MHz Cache Size: 1024 KB Memory: 2050560k/2096896k (2 gig) (1710k kernal code, 41728k reserved, 1296k data, 228k init, 1179392k highmem) Current Memory Usage: total used free shared buffers cached Mem: 2055268 1584836 470432 0 58728 1040048 -/+ buffers/cache: 486060 1569208 Swap: 2048248 0 2048248 Total: 4103516 1584836 2518680 Current Disk Usage: Filesystem Size Used Avail Use% Mounted on /dev/sda5 3.9G 329M 3.4G 9% / /dev/sda1 99M 25M 69M 27% /boot /dev/sda8 51G 2.4G 46G 5% /home none 501M 0 501M 0% /dev/shm /dev/sda7 2.0G 595M 1.3G 32% /tmp /dev/sda3 7.7G 2.7G 4.7G 36% /usr /dev/sda2 7.7G 963M 6.4G 13% /var And in our VB Control Panel, we show the summary as: Server Type Linux; PHP v4.3.10; Apache v1.3.33 MySQL v4.0.24-standard PHP Maximum Upload Size 2M PHP Max Post Size 55M PHP Memory Limit None MySQL Maximum Packet Size 1.00 MB Database Data Disk Usage 265.58 MB Database Index Disk Usage 112.49 MB Attachment Disk Usage 1.02 MB Custom Profile Picture Disk Usage 0.00 MB ----- Additionally: We installed MMcache and we are assigning 100mb to it in hopes of improving the forum. |
