Going by your argument, vbGarage too is a near complete rewrite of the old hack.
And for that matter, many other hacks with new versions released here on vb.org.
I think the rule is more along the lines of a hack ( whichever version ) only gets the chance to be nominated once.

Please correct me if I'm wrong.
