exclude certain user's posts or specific forum from "New Posts" search
Right now I am using the Article Bot to fetch a few RSS feeds and post them to a special forum I have created just for the feeds. Most of my users like to click on the "New Posts" button as a way to catch up on the forum, however the RSS feeds are in essence drowning out some of the discussion. My users really like the RSS feeds, but would like to be able to exclude them, or that RSS News forum from the "New Posts" search. Right now the article bot hack is tied to a user I created called "ARTICLE BOT." I have looked through all of the settings on vbulletin and I can't seem to find that option listed ("do not include this user's/forum's posts in the forum search for new posts"). I found the option that allows you to choose whether or not the posts in a forum are searchable, etc., but this is different. It seems like it should be a simple fix, so if anyone can help me I would appreciate it.
edit: I found out how to do it for the forums, so nevermind for anyone else looking how to do it, just add this to the end of your search.php? string: do=getnew&exclude=1,2,3,4 (where 1,2,3,4 are the forum ID Numbers) |
