Who's Online, sessions.php and the sessions table
My partner and I are trying to modify our site so that when people are browsing our pages, they appear as being online in the who's online section of the forum. Our site pages are not in the same directory as the forum. We can see that vB makes entries in the sessions table in the database when guests and users are online but we can't understand how sessions.php is working. We currently have our own system in place that makes entries into the sessions table when users are browsing non-forum pages but when a guest goes from a non-forum page to a forum page they become two guests on who's online because we are obviously doing something different to vB.
So, can someone explain the workings of sessions.php or explain what we need to do to be able to track users around our non-vb pages (that are outside the forum directory) as though they were actually on the forum and make them appear on who's online? If you want to see the site for whatever reason, it is http://www.raterock.com/ vB is installed (version 3.0.3) at http://www.raterock.com/forum/ Thanks |
