Column Hacks With Custom Images

I'm looking for a hack that would be closest to a combo of Xenon's column hack and Live Wire's image hack. I want to have a couple forums beein in columns, with non-default images as the status icon. However, I want the icon to change depending on the status of the forum. How would I do this?
