Upgrade to VB 3.0.....help!!!!
First question I have is, how do I tell what version I currently have??? I know this sounds silly but I thought I was running version 3.0 but I'm not. Apparently the copy I installed was a hacked up copy. I now have a license and I'm trying to correct things on my forum. The bottom of my pages say Vbulletin 3.0.0 however I do not have the correct directory structure for that version. So I know it's version 2.x.x and that's it.......I know, that doesn't help very much....sorry.
Second question, how do I upgrade so I don't lose all of the data that is currently in my forum??? Can I just backup MySQL, install VB 3.0, then restore my database??? If that's possible, how do I restore my database?? I apologize for all of the questions in one post but I would really like to get to version 3.0 without losing any data or the scheme/layout of my forum. My purpose for this is so I can set up the VBadvanced homepage hack after I get on version 3.0 of VB. |
