How can you put Forum category's side by side?

How can you put Forum category's side by side?

What i would like to do is make a for sale board and when that is clicked on, it brings you the page where you choose what category the item your selling. What im wonder is if theres a way to make the categorys so there's 2 side by side, instead of all in a row on top of each other.
