Subscription expiration emails

Is there a way to change the 3 day email notification that subscription members get before they expire?

The problem I am having is that some of my subscriptions are sent in by checks or money orders because some of my users do not like using Paypal or any other internet service.

I would like to extend the 3 day notification window so they have time to send there checks in before they expire. My users do not want to expire. They would rather get a notification in time to send there check in before they expire.
