Well, you could add the fields you want by editing the templates that show the quickreply and advanced reply (they are 'SHOWTHREAD' and 'newreply'), then write plugins to handle your new form fields and add them to the message text. I can give you more details if this is the kind of pin-pointing you wanted.
Sorry for the huge delay in the reply, been busy for a bit. But ya, it is as I mentioned here:
