Does anyone know of a mod that is a simple user-editable database system running in vBulletin. Basically the idea is that it would allow an administrator to define a table structure (the columns) and then allow users to submit data to that table (the rows)? Ideally it would allow a mod or admin to edit/correct any of the user-submitted data and allow other users to view the data and sort by any column, as well as have an admin-defined default sort. Structured searching of the data entered would be bonus.
I don't think I've found quite what I envisioned despite a lot of attempts, but maybe my search-fu is just lacking. Basically the idea is that there are datasets of interest to specific communities and allowing the members of that community to capture that data in a structured fashion would be very helpful. In trying to find this myself, the closest I got is the Easy Forms mod. I haven't installed it yet, but maybe it'll come close to what I need. If it does, it certainly doesn't seem to present itself as a simple database system. (If anyone is familiar with this mod, I'd love to hear your feedback with how well it might accomplish what I mentioned above). |
