There is no code in vBulletin to facilitate this directly, nor is there a 'MOD' that I know of -- I can easily be wrong. You might try vbsocial's products, maybe they have something you can use.

You could use this to display the users Facebook profile picture instead of the users avatar with very little work, but it would not import the external image. I used this method years ago before I really dove into opengraph and vbulletin.
