How to serve a different error message for a particular sub-forum
When a new user tries to post in a forum where he doesn't have privileges he gets the standard vB error message. I've tweaked that and made it a bit more bespoke for my forum. But that custom message is getting a bit long and convoluted now - "If you are new ...xyz. If you have 10+ posts and are trying qwe or poi then abc. If you're a paying member and are seeing ...." etc. etc. It's several paragraphs long now.
How can I serve different error messages for a particular forum on my site? The idea is that if a new user tries to go into the paid forum he'll see simply, "This is a paid forum, click here to subscribe" and nothing else. That's not a standard vB feature. What kind of workaround would I need to get that functionality? |
