Export Users from Wordpress > Import to VB
Hi!
I was trying to find out if it's possible (and if so, how) to export users (I have about 2,000 of them) from a Wordpress database and import them into my vBulletin database? Thanks in advanced for any guidance you can offer. --------------- Added [DATE]1309897671[/DATE] at [TIME]1309897671[/TIME] --------------- I had an idea to answer my own question, wanted to know if it will work: This is what I would do: 1) Export both database files from the phpMyAdmin database. (The wordpress user table and the VB user table) to excel spreadsheets. 2) Copy and paste user information from the wordpress spreadhseet to the vb spreadsheet. 3) Manually enter some of the information in fields which were not existent on the wordpress spreadsheet in the VB spreadsheet. 4) Import the new excel file with all the information back into phpMyAdmin. Now the wordpress user table does not have all the information that the VB user table has. (I can fill in most of these such as the user group, member group, display group, etc.) The fields I'm not sure I can fill in are the "birthday" "Salt", "options" and "Ip Address" fields. because WordPress does not collect that information in it's table. So my question is, A) will this approach work and B) will not filling in the specified fields be okay? (specifically the "salt" field looks important -- it has a bunch of random numbers.) Thanks so much! |
