Newsletter

Okay so I don't know if this is simple or not so I am just going to throw it out there.

I have designed a html based newsletter thing which I plan on distributing - however I want to give my website members first chance to sign up for it and was wondering if there was any easy way to do either of the following:

1) Have some sort of custom field in profile where they tick they want the newsletter and I can go somewhere to get the addresses to put them on the mailing list.

2) Have a special login for new members who want the newsletter where all that is required is their name and an e-mail address, which behind the scenes will create them a registration on the site however they don't need to utalize their profile if they don't want.

I am just trying to work out the best way to send html e-mails, and have it all set up as many people for this newsletter wont want to register on the board just to get it so don't/can't use the built in email system.
