Absolutely will agree with that - design isn't rocket science.

But design is just as valid as the coding work that went into making vBulletin what it is now.

And let's face it - It is the graphic elements that makes a site a site and gives the site its own brandable look. And again - I will state ==> why pay top dollar for your vB license, only to dress it up in a paper sack? That's just stupid. Of course you want your site to have its own unique style.

It's the banner/header/logo that will make the first distinct impression on your site visitor. You do not want that impression to be, "Ew - this site looks like s**t. They must have paid $2 for their logo. I'm moving on...."
