Because the formal syntax of preRegister is:

$myarray['anidbItems'] = 'somevalue';
$notarray = 'anothervalue';
vB_Template : preRegister('header', array('myarray' => $myarray, 'notarray' => $notarray);

So if you use above syntax, in template you can call var myarray by using code:

{vb : raw myarray.anidbItems}
{vb : raw notarray}
