I haven't added any custom css, all I did was paste the aforementioned code. Can I wrap some sort of tag around said code to make the color change?

A user a recommended using h5{color: #CCCCCC;} in the css file the widget "refers" to. I'm not sure if this is correct, of where to find this file.
