Hosting Uploads On A Seperate Server

I run GMPOWERtalk.com, an auto site where people upload a ton of pics. Anyways, I am using a ton of bandwidth and currently using a shared dedicated server from venturesonline.com. But, I want to get a rackshack server with 300GB to host my uploads so my BW isn't out of the roof on venturesonline server.

I posted this on VB's main forums and was told you guys did a custom avater hack to do this. Anyone ever though of doing it for uploads? I think a lot of people could possibly benefit from this, especially those tight on bandwidth that could use a rackshack server to host images and a powerful server to do the bulk work.
