Relocate the Search box and make bigger

I would like to know what code needs to be cut and pasted to relocate the search box that is in the navbar. I hate it in the navbar and want to move it.

I would like to be able to put it above the navbar where it is as I have a space there for it.

I have tried on my own but failed on all attempts to get it setup properly.

I appreciate anyone's help.
