HTTP Error 403; Forbidden

The guys on my forum are pretty technician geeks, so I wanted to pass this along for those that might have this same problem just to save members having the same problem time....

Internet Explorer isn't standard on any BlackBerry that I've ever heard of. They use "BB Browser" which was created by RIM (the makers of BlackBerry).

Opera Mini is a far better browser, it's what I use 95% of the time. I only use the BB Browser for downloading applications.

Just found out something that may be affecting it when using the BB Browser. Some phone providers may be filterings out/optimizing certain web traffic on your blackberry in an effort to speed up mobile browsing. This makes it easer on the phones processor and means less data going through the cell towers which means more people can be using them at one time. Javascript is one of the things that can be filtered out and could cause the 403 error as well.

When I access the options for the standard browser that came on my BB the very top item is "Browser: Internet Explorer". After a few other options there is "Browser Identification", which can be either "Blackberry", "Firefox", or "Internet Explorer". Changing the Browser Identification option does effect the display of the web pages, and in turn effects the load time for the pages. The Blackberry identification allows for a faster load since it tells the server that you are requesting the page from that the request is coming from a mobile device and it loads a mobile page. But the Internet Explorer and Firefox identifications make the severs think that the request is coming from a computer, so the full pages will load. When I was talking with tech support I originally told him that I was using the Blackberry browser and he asked me if my phone said Internet Explorer at the top of the options page under "Browser". So the BB Browser is Internet Explorer ("Browser") which is standard and the "Browser Identification" just tells the servers what kind of pages to download.

That is my understanding of what I have been able to find so far. I could very well be wrong. It wouldn't be the first time and won't be the last.
