Smiles no loger work after upgrade

I believe I have figured out why this is happening but not sure how to fix it. I went through and disabled all my plugins one by one till I found what was causing this issue.

In Plugin & Products under Product : vbPortal there is vbportal_plugin_start (parse_templates) which is the cause. If I disable it which is why im having all these issues I can get the edit feature to work but if I enable it all the smilies and features work but no one can edit any threads to posts..
