Hello,
I've been using vBulletin since 2000 and running on mySQL just fine. Recently I've moved to Informix Dynamic Server for all my projects including conversion of production sites from MySQL and Oracle. Informix has been with me since 1990 and currently moved back to it since; in 1995 I ran 74TB on it. There is a project I have that wants to convert vBulletin to use Informix. My recommendation was to use mySQL in tandem but at their choice wanted to invest into a conversion. I've looked at it and will take some time on my part, but I wanted to investigate a few things. 1) After I modify the vBulletin files, can I share the code with others and how. Can it be an archive release or do I need to show copy/paste instructions? 2) How can I post information on my conversion to Informix without breaking any rules. Today I spent some time getting pdo_informix to work with Apache 2.2 and PHP 5.3.0 working with Informix DS along with some heavy load testing. I just licensed 3.8.3 and working on my mapping. I'm willing to contribute and maintain an Informix port. Any help or direction appreciated on proper ways to go about my challenge. -Greg |
