Just tried and http://www.mydomain.com/forum/images/ranks/abcd.gif gives me 'The requested .... was not found on this server' and a 404

I can point my browser at any other gif (those which are part of the normal vbulletin installation) and they display but when I try it on one of my own they can't be found on the server. I can see a pattern developing here of course but the file names and locations of my gif files appear to be perfectly okay.

I renamed all files to 1.gif, 2.gif etc and now they work. Bizarre....
