Whats the difference? Fixed and Fluid Templates

I've seen fixed templates which are more centered and smaller, and the fluids which is wider. Whats the difference and what do you prefer?

Heres and example of 2 im about to get

Fixed
Fluid

Oh and by the way, do you think that skin looks good?
