Default Challenge awaiting you...

I am a novice when it comes to coding...I have tried this, but failed miserably...

As you can tell from my user name, I help run multiple sports sites dealing with college sports. With that said,

I am wanting to see if anyone is able to create a modification for vbulletin that will make it possible for the members of my websites to have their own fan polls. Or fan's top 25. If that is not possible, then just creating a top 25 system outside of vbulletin, Though being intergrated with vbulletin would be even better...

So you want to know more?

This is explained as if it were not intergrated with vbulletin...

I want drop down form (25 of them). The drop down forms are populated with the schools/teams via a database.

Each team in the database will have an unique ID number, along with the name of the school.

Next. I want it to be impossible for anyone to choose the same team twice when they are voting. At the same time, that they cannot submit their top 25 without filling out the entire form.

When they submit, it should be that they are to overlook their top 25. If they are happy with it, then they can click on submit one mroe time. If not, then they can go back and edit their top 25.

When they finally get the top 25 submitted, they receive a thank you message and are redirected to the forums or whatever page.

The harder part for me like i said is setting that into PHP and making it happen.

Next...this will all be by username and password protected. If we can tie this into the vbulletin globals, then that would be awesome. if not, then if we can create a new form for a registration that would be great. If that is too much of a hassle, then I could always password protect a folder and create usernames and password.

This will be determined by the coder of this, not me. Though I perfer the former over the latter.

Finally,

After they submit their poll, their submission will be stored in a table in the database.

once all polls are received (by a certain time and day) then I will have an execution page to calculate the overall top 25. And when the calculation takes place, it is then printed or displayed on a page on the website.

I hope this explains what I want to accomplish.

If it has to be oustide of vbulletin, I can help create all the databases and tables. Really only need a coder that is, well, a coder.

Thanks in advance.
