vowels with acute not the same with plain vowels! (greek)
Hi to all
With the valuable help of ReCom here, usernames in my forum, consist exclusively of greek letters! Nevertheless, I notice that during login, the system makes a distinction between plain vowels and vowels with an acute. This is not so practical since alpha (α) for example is in fact the exactly same letter with acute alpha (ά). In some cases there are even more different combinations. Small letter ypsilon for example can take 4 different forms: plain, with acute, with dialytika, with both dialytika and acute (υ, ύ, ϋ, ΰ). If you add the capital letter possibilities here (Υ, Ύ, Ϋ) you end up with 7 different ypsilons which are actually all different representations of the same letter! I suppose that you see how this can mess up usernames! Is there a way to explain to the login mechanism that vowels with acute and/or dialytika are exactly the same with their plain equivalent? Thanks Dimitris |
