Fostering Article Comments Growth via VB!
I have a portal website, that includes news and the vBulletin Forum.
I would like viewers to be able to post comments below news articles using their vBulletin ID / Passwords, and I would like these comments to go into the forum, so that these comments could in turn be commented on using the vBulletin software, and thus create returning viewers. http://www.ibtimes.com/articles/2008...usd-aug-24.htm For example, at the bottom of that article, someone wants to say: "This article is wrong, the rate is 1.855!" I would like to give them the opportunity to post that. I thought about simply placing a comment box below the article, that they could fill up, as well as a space to fill in their FX Community (vBulletin) ID / Password. This, then, requires, I believe, a separate, and external login module (not directly present on the Forum Page). Once the user fills up the comment box below the article, and his vBulletin login info, he should be re-directed to his now new vBulletin thread on the vBulletin pages. http://www.ibtimes.com/forex/fxcommu...read.php?t=212 Something like that. However the title of the thread should refer to the article commented upon, in our case something like: TITLE OF THREAD: RE: Market Moving News: GBP/USD - Aug 24 POST: This article is wrong, the rate is 1.855!" Once this new thread is created, other people can comment on it easily. I also would like a feature (our programmers could handle that, right?) that shows the number of vBulletin article comments at the bottom of the article in question, to let the users know, once they read the article, that this is a hot and highly discussed article. Please let me know if such a scheme is possible using VB's technology. Many Thanks! |
