Default Vbulletin for role play games?

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Hello everyone. I originally posted this topic on vbulletin-faq.com and one of the administrators suggested that I ask about it here for better feedback

I joined here to try and inquire if Vbulleting is for me or not.

I have a vision for a text based role playing game site and i was wondering if Vbulletin could be used to achieve this.

I basically do this on another Vbulletin site right now but most of the activities are done manual by volunteer staff.

It's basically where people create fictional characters and they live in villages where they are sent on quests, do battle with each other, and train their characters.

Going on quests and battling each other earns them money. They can then use the money they earn to buy upgrades and equipment for their characters. Going on quests will earn you QP (quest points), battling each other will earn you BP (battle points) and training will earn you XP (experience points).

I envision using vbulletin to have a section in the user cp that shows how much money a character has. Further more. Characters will have different ranks and so on. On top of that there will be a store. Here's an example: Lets say i want to purchase a fire spell from the store... Well I want to have it where Vbulletin will automatically know if i qualify to purchase that spell by checking my rank, and XP to make sure that i meet the requirements to use that spell. And of course, for Vbulletin to automatically deduct the money from my account.

of course i don't expect Vbulletin to magically know everything...the way i envision it is that on certain issues vbulletin will prompt a mod (or Game Master - as we call them) to issue an approval. For example, when completing a quest a game master (mod) will determine how much money you've earned and manually adjust your bank account. There's more to it than just this alone but i just wanted to give a brief summary and not geek out too much over it.

Wow...i hope this doesn't sound too weird or outrageous to anyone here...i swear i do this all the time on a vbulletin forum except we manually do all those things i'm hoping for vbulletin to automate.

Also, I know I need to have a license to receive support from this community and everything but i didn't want to purchase a license just to find out that vbulleting may not be the right option for me.

And if i posted this in the wrong section please forgive me.
