I am running 3.6.8 with the latest version of photopost.
In looking at the new features of 3.7 with it's built in
photo gallery and customizable profile pages would it be
wise for me to phase out my photopost? I like photopost
but it's looking as though i may not need it after upgrade.

It has to be improved significantly.
the 3.7 profile album is just that - an album - not a gallery, and was not created to, nor was it ever meant to, replace any gallery add-on for vB. These are personal picture albums and will very likely not be given many more features. So if you're running photopost or vBPicgallery or any other gallery add-on and don't want to be without their features, keep 'em.

I've been running TalkOhio on 3.7 since beta3, and just upgraded my designs site to beta5. No problems at all for me.
I understand that there will be a beta 6. Hopefully, it'll be out this coming week.
