Anyone know how to disable post counts from decreasing?

Does anyone know what edits can be made to what template/file to prevent member's post counts from decreasing when you manually delete their posts...for version 3.7.0?

When I mass prune threads (manually, not by auto-prune) my members get upset when their post counts decrease. Can anyone help?
