RSS Feed Manager: Are the channel variables available?

When importing a feed in the RSS Feed Manager, are the feed channel values available to be used?

For example, when looking at the RSS feed at vB.com (http://www.vbulletin.com/forum/external.php?type=rss2) the channel has a feed image defined.

How do I get to the <image> values and other values that are associated to the feed and not the individual item?
