Why all the red report flags?

Am terribly new at this, but here is my problem.

A member posts something that is inappropriate - so another member "reports" it. I have set up a Moderator section of the forum etc so the admin/mods see the report. Thats all good.
The infraction is done.... all over and done with.

BUT..... every single post that member makes afterwards, they are all flagged with the red report flags and for the life of me, I cant get rid of them. So the threads are littered with these red flags.

*takes deep breaths*

help... please??
